Angry Birds for PC

Finally, those birds that everybody likes has arrived on PC. After iPhone, iPad, Android and other mobile versions, also iPhone cases and toys, Angry Birds has finally arrived on the PC thanks to the Intel App Up store. It’ll work fine and dandy on laptops and netbooks and will cost you only $4.99 to download. Nice price for this lovely game.

Angry Birds is a global phenomenon in mobile gaming and the top grossing iPhone app of 2010. So if you’re not a smart-phone wielding hipster, you no longer have an excuse not to be part of this franchise.

Overall it’s pretty much an identical game play experience to the iPhone app, with some minor differences. It’s snappy, gorgeous, and it sounds amazing. On the netbook version you use a mouse or trackpad instead of touch. There is an open hand icon when the mouse is in hover state, and a closed hand icon when you are clicking or dragging. This visible clue when pulling the slingshot is a nice aid. It allows you to fine tune shots more than just observing the angle of the slingshot band.

Larger screen means more visibility in the game. On many levels you can see the target that can’t be seen on the iPhone. The previous shot trail is more easily seen, allowing fine tuning of your next shot. Overall the animations and physics seem to have more fluidity.

In terms of features, options, menu etc it’s pretty close to the original. On the netbook the replay level icon has been added to the game space. So you don’t need to pause first then replay. If you start off with bad shot, just click the replay icon, then you can start over. Saving a click is nice. There is a Menu button in the Pause menu that gets you back to the Start screen. There are some things not in play on the netbook version. The leader board and achievements are not available in the main menu. The Golden Eggs are there.

Angry Birds strikes an interesting balance of repetitive, simple tasks and challenging game play working for the many scenarios. So, if you liked this game on your iPhone or Android phone, you’ll sure like it on your big PC screen. If you are new player, don’t hesitate and join the fun now.

    The PC version was updated last week which we talked about in this post. This update will finally include all episodes of Ham ‘Em High and the two chapters of Mine and Dine. I’m sure this is welcome news for all the PC players who have been feeling left out. It shouldn’t have taken this long to get all the episodes out but that’s in the past now so lets just get to playing. Since all the chapters are available you also have access to all of the golden eggs. You can finally complete your collection!

    As a side note because I didn’t want to do an entire post about the subject, have you all seen the Angry Birds bra? It’s available over on etsy  you should go check it out. I personally don’t know anyone who would wear it but i’m sure there is someone out there  who would. I don’t recommend buying this for you girlfriend or wife unless she really loves angry birds.

Company Loyalty? What's the problem?

Every now and then some one sticks out and says, I support this company no matter what...
Then comes this kind of dudes that begins bashing this poor dude and calling him names Cause he said he supports a company.

Dudes, lets put all the bull crap aside and look at it clearly.
Being loyal to a company is just like being loyal to anything else that you are loyal to.

You are Loyal to Team X, They play games, you support them, you cheer them you push them forward, they win you are happy, they lose you get upset and angry, but then you forgive them, and give them another chance.

If they just screw up all the time then that's it, every reasonable person will leave them behind and go on with their lives.

Same for a company, You and the Company X has a producer and consumer relation.
You both need each other, believe it or not.

They need you, to make things, sale them and make money to be able to make more things to sale more things to make more money.

You need them, to buy good quality products, enjoy your product and buy another good product.

If they screw up, you will give them another chance, but if they instantly screw up you will leave them and be gone.

They do care about you, yes you the common people, without you they can't do anything, they will lose ground and fail.

You without them might never find a product that pleased you as well as the product X.

Being a Company Loyal is not a crime, is nothing wrong, is not stupid or ETC.

But bashing somebody who is Loyal for all the right reasons is wrong.

What I will be addressing in this article, though, is the effect that a single statement has on the Internet. And that statement is:

Now, if you've been around this week on N4G.com, you are very familiar with these words and the many variations of them posted here. But, do you understand what this phrase means to the future of discussions on N4G.com and similar forums?

PART ONE: IS IT A VALID STATEMENT?

No, it's not.

First, it's not 77 million individual users, but every single account created of which there may be more than one per user. I myself have three. My main in North America, one in Hong Kong, and one in the UK. Why do I have multiple accounts? Sometimes free content is limited by region, such as the Afrika dynamic wallpaper was free and only available for a period of time in Japan.

Second, even Sony confirmed that they only stored 10 million credit cards on their system and this information was all encrypted.

Third, and most importantly, there is no proof on what data was or wasn't taken. None whatsoever.

PART TWO: WHY IS IT BEING SAID?

It's a reaction for one or more reasons to the Sony PSN attack and following downtime.

People are afraid of what this means. They're afraid of the possibility of their info being vulnerable. Sure, if they've ever used a credit card online, they've always been vulnerable. But, the instance of a moment that brings to light the chance of this sort of vulnerability is like a kick to the gut for many.

For others, it's an arguing point. The point being that Sony isn't good or that someone else is better. That seems petty, but this is the Internet we're talking about here. If you're not aware of the uses of the failures of one company over another, you must be new to N4G.com and similar gaming forums. Don't worry, it won't take long for you to see it.

PART THREE: WHAT CAN I DO?

Ignore it and don't respond to it. The only reason this phrase is even brought up is to get a reaction out of others. If you ignore it, if you don't respond to it, they will stop using it. It will lose its power and the people who use it will move onto something else.

Even if you respond with logic, you are giving power to this phrase. The power that you need to respond to the invalid elements of it and the power that someone gets over seeing you respond to it at all.

And, yes, the need for this response is even more petty than the statement itself.

PART FOUR: ARE THERE OTHER STATEMENTS TO WATCH OUT FOR

Most undoubtedly. There are hundreds just related to gaming, and they will continue to come.

Here are a few:

These are statements thrown about every day on N4G.com in one way or another, statements with a point of getting people to respond to them when no response is needed. Statements looking for one thing, and that is someone there to argue the points even though only one side is actually arguing while the other is sitting there, gleeful that they've evoked the desired response to their attempt at trolling.

People complain about the community here, but you should realize that the reason we have so many issues is because many of us respond to them when we should just ignore them and move onto other topics.
