FarmVille Scam Alert: Return of the Phony Love Potion Offer

Love Potion Scam
The Love Potion News Feed scam is back to make FarmVille players' lives miserable, but don't call it a comeback. We're gonna' nip this right in the bud. FarmVille Freak reports that this new and improved scam includes text that appears to be from the user posting the request directly. This is not in any way legitimate--it is a scam. To prove it, just look at where the offer takes you after clicking on the link. It's most definitely not anything Zynga created. Look, this whole scam thing has gotten out of hand, so check behind the break for some tips for how to put a stop to it.

Thankfully, Zynga has compiled a list of tips to help you avoid and thwart attempts to scam you or your friends:

Feeds containing art never seen in game are most likely not from FarmVille.
Feeds containing offers that are never mentioned in game are most likely not from FarmVille.
Feeds that offer Farm Cash for clicking are never from FarmVille.
If the icon in the lower left corner of the feed isn't our corn husk icon, the feed is never from FarmVille.
If a link is posted by an entity other than FarmVille, and supposedly contains FarmVille content or a redirect to the game, we do not advise clicking on it as we cannot control URL's that are in anyway removed from our game flows.

While Zynga hit it right on the nose, it's come to a point where scammers are adapting to these criteria. You must be more than careful when clicking on News Feed posts and check for any inconsistencies. Spread the word of this and all other scams to prevent their spread. Now, go on and find those Love Potions safely.
